Cruising in the yard

It was so great to have a nice breeze this afternoon. I decided to cruise around and take pictures. Some of the flowers and some of the garden.

Butter bean
Our first white grapes

My high school friend, Eddie, brought us 6 bags of well composted horse manure.

Cuke

Corn

Beans

Scads of banana peppers (let me give you some!)
We've found these peppers are great substitutes for Bell Peppers. In fact, we prefer them over Bell Peppers.

I love the sputnik look of the spent bloom of the Agapanthus

The emerging bloom of the Achmea Bromeliad

pruning the hydrangea

Tiger lily

Water lily

Pulling weeds

Asiatic lily "Elodie"

Name this flower

Hello!

A favorite recipe. Mashed potatoes goes well with it.

Enjoy!

  1. You are still trying to trick some famous horticulturalist into naming that unknown flower for you, aren't you? Well it's for sure not going to be me. . . . I haven't a clue!

  3. My hardworking husband put a well down and proceeded to plumb this entire 1.9 acres with a sprinkling system...including the pots on the deck! He loves doing "water-works"!

  7. The tour of the gardens yesterday was wonderful! It's even more amazing than these photos show. I hope that I can remember half of what Marilyn tried to teach me as we looked over the gardens!
