- WheelChair Gardener: In 1995, I was shot by a 14-yr old boy who had entered my home while I worked in the side yard. He wanted money to go to McDonalds and found a handgun I kept for protection. He sought me out while I rested in the courtyard and shot me. I was paralyzed from the chest down and lay there for several hours before my brother happened to come by. He was about to leave, when he noticed a yellow iris blooming on the far side of the yard. He went to take a closer look and heard me calling to him from behind the privacy board fence. The iris saved me. I went to rehab and was able to return to work. By selling my car and funds donated, I was able to get a special rampvan that I could drive while in the wheelchair. I found a wonderful home that easily adapted to being wheelchair friendly. In addition, I have 1.9 acres. It would have been too much but not long after retiring I contacted a childhood friend and after a couple of years she passed away. Her husband and I became friends and he came to live with me and married me. Ed takes great care of me and this place here in Lower Alabama at Zone 8. He loves the place and is a gardener also.

ReplyDeleteI spent quite some time with the Kodak Tech support and cleared off the old ver of software then loaded the latest ver of 8.2. Thought I had it fixed, but when I tried to download pictures, it didn't work. My printer is too old to qualify for a download, so I will have to buy a new one. This has been a very frustrating experience!
