I believe I found the name of the plant in my encyclopedia of Gardening - Shade Gardens. It reads:

Achimenes, the monkey-faced pansy


Related to gloxinias and African violets. That's where they get the hairy leaf.

Today was our Chickasaw Garden Club meeting and the speaker was from Cleveland Florist, who spoke about orchids. He brought all colors of phaleonopsis and dendrobiums.
